Practical Pastoral Manual
Practical Pastoral Manual

It is best to use this book as a reference for your pastoral ministry needs. It handles the 'how to' questions of pastoring. The first ten chapters are about growing your church and ministering to others. The next six chapters are about conducting certain ceremonies or sacraments. The next four chapters deal with the administrative aspects of church leadership. The final two chapter includes laying on of hands and suggestions for the pastor. Go to the chapter you need when you are dealing with any of these areas.

This manual includes summarized teachings and guidelines from the Harvest Army International Seminary for new pastors and leaders of churches. This is not an exhaustive minister's manual, but focuses on areas needed for new pastors and ministry leaders to lead a church and conduct pastoral ministry. This is the second version. Regular updates and subsequent versions may be released.

The Future of Food in America (Reforming Food & Family Audio Collection)
The Future of Food in America (Reforming Food & Family Audio Collection)

Product description With a rising population, should Americans expect to face food shortages? Why can't we buy raw milk, sausage, and eggs? What should our response be to excessive government control of the food supply? And what is the biblical perspective on the humane treatment of animals and sound agricultural practices as it relates to putting food on the table in America? In The Future of Food in America, world-renowned agricultural expert Joel Salatin and farmer Noah Sanders dispel numerous misconceptions surrounding food and offer hopeful and practical solutions to a host of real food challenges that lie ahead for our nation. The Marvelous Pigness of Pigs Respecting and Caring for All God's Creation
The Marvelous Pigness of Pigs Respecting and Caring for All God's Creation

From Christian libertarian farmer Joel Salatin, a clarion call to readers to honor the animals and the land, and produce food based on spiritual principles.
What on earth is THE MARVELOUS PIGNESS OF PIGS? It's an inspiring call to action for people of faith . . . a heartfelt plea to heed the Bible's guidance . . . .
It's an important and thought-provoking explanation of how by simply appreciating the marvelous pigness of pigs, we are celebrating the Glory of God.
As a man of deep faith and student of the Bible, and as a respected and successful ecological family farmer, Joel Salatin knows that God created heaven and earth and meant for all living organisms to be true to their nature and their endowed holy purpose. He intended for us to respect and care for His gift of creation, not to ravage and mistreat it for our own pleasure or wealth.
The example that inspires the book's title explains what Salatin means: when huge corporate farms confine pigs in cramped and dark pens, inject them with antibiotics and feed them herbicide-saturated food simply to increase profits, they are not respecting them as a creation of God or allowing them to express even their most rudimentary uniqueness - that special role that is part of His design. Every living organism has a God-given uniqueness to its life that must be honored and respected, and too often that is not happening today.
Salatin shows us the long overlooked ethics and instructions in the Bible for how to eat, how to shop, how to think about how we farm and feed the world. Through scripture and Biblical stories, he shows us why it's more vital than ever to look to the good book rather than corporate America when feeding the country and your family.
Salatin makes a compelling case for Christian stewardship of the earth and how it relates to every action we take regarding our food. He also opens our eyes to a common misconception many Christians may have about environmentalism: it's not a bad thing, and definitely not just the province of secular liberals; it's really a very good thing, part of heeding God's Word.
With warmth and with humor, but with no less piercing criticism of the industrial food complex, Salatin brings readers on a fascinating journey of farming, food and faith. Readers will not say grace over their plates the same way ever again.

The Pigness of Pigs: Respecting and Caring for All God's Creation
The Pigness of Pigs: Respecting and Caring for All God's Creation

From Christian libertarian farmer Joel Salatin, a clarion call to listeners to honor the animals and the land, and produce food based on spiritual principles. Joel Salatin is perhaps the nation's best known farmer, whose environmentally friendly, sustainable Polyface Farms has been featured in Food, Inc. and Time magazine. Now in his first audiobook written for a faith audience, Salatin offers a deeply personal argument for earth stewardship, and calls for fellow Christians to join him in looking to the Bible for a foodscape in line with spiritual truth. Salatin urges Christians to rethink America's allegiance to cheap corporate food that destroys creation in its production, impoverishes third world countries, and supports oligarchical interests. He wonders why Christians ignore and even revel in unhealthy eating habits and factory farming that runs counter to God's design. With scripture and Biblical stories, Salatin presents an alternative and shows listeners that in appreciating the pigness of pigs, we celebrate the Glory of God.

Wisdom of Dirt A Farmer's View of How Life Is from a Tractor Seat
Wisdom of Dirt A Farmer's View of How Life Is from a Tractor Seat

The American farmer is largely misunderstood as a career choice of hard work but lack the ability to contribute to the true meaning of life in everyday living. This book was written to help the nonfarmers (98 percent of the population) understand why and how farmers think and feel about living in a less complicated but "common sense" way of life. It is written from a singular point of view (mine) but with the knowledge that I have grown up and managed a fourth-generation farm that has lived through the Great Depression, World War II, and runaway inflation of the 1980s and the major economic corrections in the early 2000s. This book was written mostly for future generations in my own family, but the life lessons learned from a seventy-year-old farmer apply to anyone who wants to live a "common sense" life. Enjoy the Wisdom of Dirt.
