Excerpt from I H C Feed Grinder
The table below indicates the speed of the International feed grinder when operated with an IH C gasoline engine equipped with regular pulley from 4 to 20-horse power. In order to secure the greatest capacity with these grinders, they should be operated at maximum speed. This will permit feeding the grinder to its fullest capacity. The minimum speed for the 8 and 10-inch grinders is 300 revolutions per minute, and the maximum speed, when the ο¬y wheel is used, is 600 revolutions per minute. When run at a speed above 600 revo Iutions the ο¬y wheel should be removed.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Floods and droughts are climate extremes that account for more than 80% of people affected by natural disasters worldwide. Both catastrophes co-exist in many river basins, for example, the Mun River Basin in Thailand, which is selected as the study area. Approximately 90% of rice cultivation here is rain-fed, and that results in the lowest yields in the country, making many farmers persist in poverty. This study aims to assess floods and droughts and their impacts on agriculture at the basin scale. For flooding, the hydrologic and hydraulic models were developed to produce the first completed flood hazard maps at the Mun River Basin. Droughts in the basin were determined by the proposed drought risk assessment scheme that combines all three key components (hazard, exposure, and vulnerability). Subsequently, the study attempts to tackle both floods and droughts simultaneously and sustainably by using integrated measures and strategies. If the problems caused by flood and drought climate extremes are solved, this will ensure adequate food availability and alleviate poverty in the basin. Furthermore, the study shows that a holistic approach to simultaneously solving both problems is efficient as most water will be utilized to benefit agriculture, the primary sector that feeds a growing population.

Excerpt from International Auto Buggies and Auto Wagons
The designers of the International auto buggy considered serviceability as the first requisite. A century of carriage building has taught makers that lightness and strength were absolutely necessary in vehicles for country, town, and rural roads. The combination of both these features has resulted in the International auto buggy, a car that has all the advantages of a buggy and none of its disadvantages, and for this reason it is the only logical successor to the horse and buggy.
The high wheels give abundant road clearance and the solid rubber tires elim inate tire troubles. So great is the difference in cost that an entire set of solid rubber tires can be purchased for the price of one good pneumatic tire. These features eliminate the excessive cost that is common to the automobile with pneu matic tires. It means greater service and a more dependable car, for the simple reason that the driver is not obliged to stop and repair a puncture when he is several miles in the country. One great feature of the International auto buggy that will appeal to every user of country roads is the fact that this car does no more harm to any roadbed than the ordinary spring wagon, which cannot be said of high-speed pneumatic-tire machines. For this reason the International auto buggy will commend itself to all those who desire good roads, and particularly to those who are taxed heavily for their maintenance.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from International Corn Planters
The planters are all steel with the exception of the tongue. The frame of the planters is one continuous piece of high grade steel, the rear portion being circular in form, giving the frame exceptional strength and stability. The frame is attached to the runner frame by two large pins, making a strong connection but allowing the runner frame to pivot independently and to con form to surface irregularities. The entire construction of the International corn planters is simple, but very efficient.
When the kernels are well planted, more than half of man's battle in securing a good crop is won. The International corn planter was designed for the one purpose of putting the corn in the ground in the best possible manner for rapid growth.
It is in the field that the International corn planter proves its superiority. Provided with variable and automatic drops, and with edge drop, ο¬at drop, or full hill drop plates, the corn is put into the ground according to the power of the soil to develop it to full maturity. Practically all fields vary as to the producing ability of the soil. A planter with an assortment of drops, there fore, becomes of great assistance in securing a uniform crop and enabling the soil to develop the seed to its fullest extent.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from International Hay Presses: International Harvester Company of America, Incorporated, Chicago, USA
In localities where but little or no hay is grown, and where there is a big demand for hay, high prices will be offered. The best markets are, as a rule, found in large cities, and on account of the limited space offered for storage in cities, there is a greater demand for baled hay than for loose hay. If the hay is baled it can be easily shipped to the market offering the highest price.
In feeding hay to his own stock, the farmer will find a great convenience and saving in having it baled, as it is much easier to handle baled hay than it is to drag loose hay around with a fork, and there is always considerable waste when loose hay is fed, due to its being scattered about the barn or feed lot. Baled hay can be stacked much easier and better than loose hay, and on account of the compactness of the stacks they can be protected from the weather by canvas coverings at a low cost.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
