Binder Twine Industry (Classic Reprint)
Binder Twine Industry (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from Binder Twine Industry
Yet, if it were not for the industry of those two widely separated nations, the farmers of this rich country would still be obliged to bind their grain with old-fashioned wire. Ln fact, the problem of twine was the problem of successful binding for years after the self-binder was an established fact.
It took many years and thousands of dollars to eliminate this primary drawback to the early grain growers of the country. One manufacturer alone spent $l trying to make twine out of grass, using paper as a substitute, and on straw, all in the end to be discarded as unsatisfactory. Then, after searching the world with a close-tooth rake, as it were, it was found that two fibres could be made to do the work - manila and sisal. The manila long, soft and even - had generally been used in multiple strands for making cable and cordage; while the sisal - strong, pliable and smooth - was found to lend itself perfectly to the manufacture of a single-strand cord, such as the self-binder necessitated.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Farm Mechanics From Tank Or Truck to Tractor to the Disabled Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, to Aid the in Choosing a Vocation (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from Farm Mechanics: From Tank or Truck to Tractor to the Disabled Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, to Aid the in Choosing a Vocation
Fig. L3. - This cut shows a shop which one farmer fixed up for his own use. The gasolene engine is used to drive aline shaft. By this means a power-driven emery wheel is available for grinding tools. This is of great help where chilled plows are used. The forge is one of the most important features of the equipment. The arrangement will depend on the work to be done. An important point that must not be overlooked is floor space for working on a machine and a large door that will admit an auto or a gang plow or other large machines. The mechanic will usually find helpers on the farm who with a little training will be able to render valuable assistance.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. For More and Better Corn in the Northwest (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from For More and Better Corn in the Northwest
For the purpose of further demonstrating the possibilities of growing corn and alfalfa in North Dakota, the Agricultural Extension Department of the International Harvester Company of New Jersey leased a half section farm for a period of five years. The year 1912 was a poor corn year as the season was unfavorable, especially so because of a wet fall and a killing frost which came before much of the corn was matured. We were able, however, to secure enough locally grown seed to plant about two hundred acres over which we had supervision.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Primrose Cream Separators (Classic Reprint)
Primrose Cream Separators (Classic Reprint)

Excerpt from Primrose: Cream Separators
Progress and success are synonymous. No movement, no undertaking can succeed unless it advances. Man's insatiate ambition to surpass the achievements of his fellow man has wrought many and wonderful changes in the commercial life of the nation. The most wonderful, the most far - reaching change has been the right about face of the business of dairy farming. For scores of years a humdrum existence was lived through on farms that had a few cows. Finally the value of the dairy product became a conscious fact to one man. The invention of the cream separator was the result. Progress has evolved the cream separator from a crude affair to a highly efficient machine, and has advanced dairy farming to its rightful position - the head of the nation's business life.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Substantially 90 per cent of the original $120, 000 000 capital stock covered by tangible property and working capital. There was in addition a considerable real good will.
Acquisitions of competitors and extensions into new lines, until to day the company is also an important factor in certain other branches of the farm-machinery industry.
About the Publisher
Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. The 2007-2012 World Outlook for Attachments for Farm-Type Wheel Tractors Excluding Attachments for Tractor Chassis Shipped As Part of Front Engine Design Tractor Shovel Loader/backhoes (NEHP)

This study covers the world outlook for attachments for farm-type wheel tractors excluding attachments for tractor chassis shipped as part of front engine design tractor shovel loader/backhoes (NEHP) across more than 200 countries. For each year reported, estimates are given for the latent demand, or potential industry earnings (P.I.E.), for the country in question (in millions of U.S. dollars), the percent share the country is of the region and of the globe. These comparative benchmarks allow the reader to quickly gauge a country vis-Γ -vis others. Using econometric models which project fundamental economic dynamics within each country and across countries, latent demand estimates are created. This report does not discuss the specific players in the market serving the latent demand, nor specific details at the product level. The study also does not consider short-term cyclicalities that might affect realized sales. The study, therefore, is strategic in nature, taking an aggregate and long-run view, irrespective of the players or products involved.
